Prek Description
Head Start is a program for three and four year old children from low income families or catagorical eligibility such as homelessness. Services are offered that help shape the attitudes and health habits of preschoolers. Child Start, Head Start services residents of Sedgwick and Harper counties.Transportation is available in some locations. There are several options to choose from, such as full day or part day, center, family child care, or home based options.
The goal of the Head Start 0-5 Program is that each preschool child will leave the program with development foundation needed
for success in school and beyond. Program staff measure each child's progrss toward this goal in four development domains: Social emotional,
Physical, Cognitive and language development.
