Preschool Description

Welcome to Appletree Learning Center and Academy where your child is The Apple of Our Eye It will indeed be a pleasure serving you and your family. Here at Appletree Academy, it is our definite intent to provide quality affordable childcare with a personal touch. Our major focus is to render service with individual attention, while catering to our childrens physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs. We take pride in providing these needs through small classroom settings with low student per teacher ratios.
It is our experience that children are eager to meet new challenges daily. Children achieve greater successes when they are allowed reasonable choices and the opportunity to excel at their `own pace. Our goal is to motivate our students through use of the principle Learning is fun and fun is learning, thereby providing a healthy learning environment which will stimulate our children for positive growth.
Our school is structured with a management team consisting of Owners, Directors, Lead Teachers, and Assistants who maintain CPR and First Aid certification. Additionally, our staff meets all necessary early childhood training criteria regulated by the Georgia Department of Human Resources.
We are open for operation year-round and offer services to all parents with children from 6 weeks to school age. Our hours of operation are from 6:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. We currently use the High Scope Curriculum for our Pre-K Program and model it for our preschool classes. The classes are also equipped with computers to further enhance our program. We also provide a super exciting Summer Camp and Winter and Spring break activities for our school age children.
During the entire year we will also provide many extracurricular activities for our children. These activities include many on-site events such as art and music classes as well as puppet shows, movies and dramatic story tellers. We will also be scheduling educational field trips to such venues as the zoo, the library and the park for a picnic with our 3 and 4 year olds. We encourage our parents to join us and their children whenever possible.
Our Center observes 8 holidays and is closed on the following days: New Years Day, MLK Birthday, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
A daily report is filled out for all infant and toddler students and is given to the parents at the end of each day. This report tells our parents what activities their child enjoyed that day, how well they ate and rested, their overall behavior as well as other information. Our menus and lesson plans are posted in the foyer on the bulletin board.
