Child Day Care Description

The mission of the School Age Child Care Program is to provide a safe, affordable, nurturing environment for Cherry Hill children who need before-school and after-school care. The children shall have opportunities to choose activities designed to promote their physical, mental, social and emotional development in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
In appreciation of the staff of the districts School Age Child Care (SACC) and Student Enrichment Programs (STEP), the Cherry Hill Board of Education recently recognized Mrs. Kathy Mueller, SACC Coordinator, and Mr. Ed Klitz, STEP Coordinator.
The recognition coincided with Gov. Jon Corzines proclamation of Thursday, October 22, as Lights On Afterschool Day in recognition of New Jerseys commitment to innovative after-school programs and activities that ensure that the lights stay on and the doors stay open for all children after school.
Here in Cherry Hill, we are extremely fortunate to offer quality programs that provide a safe, affordable and nurturing environment for students who need before-school and after-school care, said Dr. David Campbell, Superintendent of Schools.
In addition to the districts school age childcare program - or SACC - which operates in each elementary school, Cherry Hill also operates an extended day child care program for kindergarten students, as well as several Student Enrichment programs that provide varied opportunities for recreation, socialization, and intellectual development.
The district is proud to participate in Lights on Afterschool Day, which promotes the importance of quality after-school programs, Dr. Campbell said. The SACC, EDCC, and STEP programs have grown and flourished in our district and - thanks to the dedication, enthusiasm, creativity, and leadership of our staff - we support our families by ensuring that the children who participate are safe and productive after the regular school day ends.
