We are guided by developmentally appropriate and culturally relevant practices; in addition, we look to research and established best practice to inform our curriculum; and, to maintain program excellence, we value continuing education for our teaching staff in the field of early childhood education.
Families and teachers are partners in the care and education of their children. All Children are able, competent learners and that their social and emotional health and development are directly related to their cognitive growth and development. The learning environment should be rich with possibilities for exploration, inquiry and problem solving in all domains. Teachers have a special responsibility to observe, interpret and document children's interests, their questions and their learning, and to incorporate this in their planning.
Families are invited to visit a center with their child before registering. Schedule time with the Director to meet the staff, observe their work with children and pick up a family Handbook. This time will help you make the best decision for your child and family. We will look forward to meeting with you.

Our Early Learning Center at Lulu Walker Elementary is a welcoming environment for 3-5 year old children, where lasting relationships are strengthened and encouraged. Our environment provides the opportunity for children to explore and discover their interests, while encouraging them to build on all possibilities for independent learning. A typical day at our Early Learning Center will incorporate social-emotional, language and literacy, math and science, history, health and safety and creative expressions.
