Preschool Description

Hello and welcome to our preschool in Richmond, VA. My name is Larmika Williams-Hancock, the school director. Previously located on 6611 Elkhardt Road, we have moved into a new state of the art facility to better meet your quality child care needs.
Our school strives to create a warm, loving, and health environment for children, parents and staff. We reinforce our daily structured learning and activities with lessons on healthy eating and anti-bullying. It is important for us to be involved in the community and to educate them on the benefits of healthy eating and exercise, starting at a young age. Positive self image is a huge part of social and emotional development in our youth. Unfortunately, bullying starts as young as toddlers and has a negative effect on a childs self confidence. We reinforce these concerns with our parents, children and staff as we encourage involvement in the childrens daily activities.
Childcare Network has a history of providing quality learning programs. Our success stems from our research based HighReach Learning Curriculum, which provides a wide range of learning experiences. Through play, young children will develop cognitively, socially/emotionally and physically. The curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of your child based on their age and their progress. Our infants even have a curriculum through HighReach called Bright Babies, where they will begin their love for learning.
In addition to our daily curriculum, we offer ballet, karate, gymnastics, and Spanish classes. In the near future, my staff and I will be looking forward to moving into the Quality Star Rating Scale and the Excell Literacy Program.
We are on USDA Approved Food program, which offers a healthy breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack, prepared right here at the school.
Our Kindergarten Prep Academy (Kindergarten readiness program) operates on a full day, full year schedule for children ages 4-5 years old. Our Pre-k curriculum provides a unique balance of standards-based on class room support materials. Family connection components are easy to understand, and our parents look forward to their end of the year ceremony which is celebrated with our families, friends and community supporters.
During the school year, we offer our Young Achiever's Club (after school program). Homework assistance, nutritional snacks and various activities from photography clubs to cooking clubs are provided. Guest speakers are invited to talk with the children about careers and hobbies throughout the year. In addition to school transportation, we offer a fee based home transportation service for children ages 2-12.
When school is out, these Young Achievers have a blast in our Adventure Summer Camp Program. They are exposed to various themes including science, math and history, through weekly themes. We take multiple educational field trips that are fun and exciting to include movies, parks, swimming and museums. Through our Summer Reading Program, the campers keep their young minds active and prepared for the upcoming years challenges.
