Childhaven - Broadway in Seattle, WA

Pre School Description

Opened in 2004, Childhavens Broadway Branch was born from the century-old Seattle Day Nursery located in the citys historic Central District. The state-of-the-art facility and its 40 full-time staff membersincluding 24 therapeutic child care providersserve approximately 98 children. The branch includes 11 classrooms (observable through one-way glass), collaborative research rooms and a library resource area. Historical elements from the original Seattle Day Nursery building also were preserved within the design of the modern space.
More than 2,000 donors contributed toward the construction of the 73,000 square-foot, four-story building, which also houses Childhavens administrative offices. Key support from organizations included the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Paul G. Allen Foundation, the Norcliffe Foundation, the Kresge Foundation, and the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation.
