Childrens House Montessori Preschool & Kindergarten was founded in 1974 and is conveniently located the corner of Mountain Avenue and Shields Street.
The principles and philosophy of the school are based upon the teachings of Dr. Maria Montessori who believed that children must have the freedom to be themselves and to trust their own intuition in order to develop fully their physical, intellectual, and spiritual powers.
The Childrens House Montessori School continues to advance the Montessori tradition and has established itself as a leader in quality alternative education. It is a place where children can fully explore, enjoy, and enrich their developing minds.
Childrens House Montessori School is owned and operated by Mary Crosby and Betsy Joseph. Mary Crosby is a Montessori certified instructor who has been teaching since 1979, and Betsy Joseph has taught at Childrens House Montessori and Webber Junior High for over 20 years; she has also raised 4 Montessori-educated children.
