Daycare Center Description

Creekside is dedicated to inspiring every student to think, to learn, to achieve and to care. At Creekside we use our vision as our basis for school improvement planning, budgeting and staff development. We believe that teaching and learning are the heart and soul of school improvement and all members of our community must embrace that notion in order for us to ensure that our mission is also our reality.
We are dedicated to providing a safe and intellectually stimulating school where all students excel and feel part of our learning community. The preparation that students receive at Creekside will prepare then to meet the challenges in higher education and their future work place. It is our goal that students will be well rounded. In addition to providing rigorous academics we also provide an excellent music, art and physical education program. We offer choir to students in grades 3-5, after school intramurals, art club and foreign language classes.
Every student at Creekside is explicitly taught the 40 Developmental Assets in Assets classes. We consider the 40 Developmental Assets essential to raising successful young people. These assets have the power to influence choices young people make and help them become caring, responsible adults. The twenty internal assets identify those characteristics and behaviors that reflect positive internal growth and development of young people. These assets are about positive values and identities, social competencies, and commitment to learning. The internal Developmental Assets will help these young people make thoughtful and positive choices and, in turn, be better prepared for situations in life that challenge their inner strength and confidence.
The Developmental Asset framework is categorized into two groups of 20 assets. External assets are the positive experiences young people receive from the world around them. These 20 assets are about supporting and empowering young people, about setting boundaries and expectations, and about positive and constructive use of young people's time. External assets identify important roles that families, schools, congregations, neighborhoods, and youth organizations can play in promoting healthy development. At Creekside students are consistently involved in food drives, hurricane relief projects and fund raising for families and schoolmates in need. We are extremely proud of our focus on the whole child.
Creekside is a safe, nurturing and positive environment. We recognize that each child is unique, and we respect and nurture this uniqueness. We treat everyone with integrity, dignity and compassion. We strive to challenge each child to reach his/her fullest academic potential. Every child will develop a core of academic skills which will enable all students to achieve at their highest potential during and after theirs years at Creekside. We provide rich learning environments at Creekside; involving students in real life experiences, creative opportunities, problem investigation, and hands on learning. We develop a foundation for lifelong learning by fostering internal motivation, self discipline, and independent-thinking, open-mindedness and a desire for knowledge. We build a sense of community by linking students, staff, parents, businesses and community resources in a partnership working toward student success, positive self esteem, and achievement. We celebrate diversity and expand perspectives so children can better understand and impact their world.
