Prek Philosophy
It is the philosophy of the Childrens Center that children need to grow and learn in an environment where they feel loved and safe. We encourage children to develop physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially and spiritually through the nurturing care of our teachers. We recognize the importance of assisting children to become independent, self motivated, self disciplined and respectful of others.
The Childrens Center has adopted the WEE Learn Curriculum provided by LifeWay and endorsed by The Child Development Education Alliance (a voice for quality in Christian settings) supports our philosophy. This curriculum offers systematic learning opportunities in language, early reading, mathematics, science, social studies, the arts, and physical personal, social and spiritual development. The curriculum is relevant to childrens everyday experiences and highlights the importance of the familys role in linking a childs experiences to the world around them. Each unit includes Bible stories and teachings designed to lay a foundation for understanding God, Jesus, Bible, church, self, family, others, and the natural world. In addition our Pastor provides weekly chapel time to reinforce our spiritual teachings.
