Child Care Center Philosophy
The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Regions Before and After School Child Care
program provides children ages 5-12 with opportunities for growth and
development outside of their school day through activities and adventures that
are child-centered and fun! We provide a safe, encouraging environment that
promotes positive self-esteem and image, life skills, teamwork, leadership,
creativity and education support. We have developed a variety of activities and
opportunities for children, with an emphasis on eight core components:

6. Science, Math and Technology

The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region recognizes that exceptional, caring adults are
essential to the healthy development of children. Our staff exceed state licensing
requirements for experience and training. All staff are required to pass a state and
national background check before they are hired and references are extensively
checked. Additionally, all staff are First Aid/CPR certified making YMCA school-age
programs the standard in safety and quality.
