Pre K Philosophy
Recognizing the vital importance of early childhood in the basic character formation, First United
Methodist Preschool was established in 1949. It's purpose was to provide the Preschool child the
opportunity for his own social, emotional, spiritual and developmental growth in a carefully planned
program with a nurturing, Christian environment. It was and continues to be an integral part of the
educational program of our church. In accordance with a tradition of providing a loving, supportive,
stimulating, enriching and child-centered Preschool program, that FUMCOR continues to serve children
and their families. It is the intention and purpose of the entire staff to foster and appreciate the
individual child's natural curiosity, creativity and ability.
