Pre School Description

It is a Federal program for preschool children from low-income families. The Head Start program is operated by local non-profit organizations in almost every county in the United States. Children who attend Head Start participate in a variety of educational activities. They also receive free medical and dental care, have healthy meals and snacks, and enjoy playing outdoors in a safe setting. Head Start helps all children succeed. Services are offered to meet the special needs of children with disibilities. The program serves 3 and 4 year old children who meet the Federal income guidelines.

Special Needs

Vision, hearing, speech, language & developmental screenings along with dental exams will be conducted. Children with health needs will receive follow-up care. Other services will be available for children with special needs. Mental health services are also provided for families as requested. In most centers Head Start buses transport children from their homes to the centers and back.
