Child Development Center Description

Delta Head Start/Early Head Start is pleased to welcome you into our comprehensive child development program. We offer a variety of services to children and their families in Garvin, McClain and Stephens Counties. These services are designed for pregnant women and children 0 to 5. Ser-vices include developmentally appropriate early childhood education, parent education, Parent/Child activities, health and dental care, nutrition, mental health, parent involvement and transitions. Our staff is committed to pro-viding and ensuring children and families receive a quality experience with the Head Start program.

Early Head Start provides services to infants, toddlers and pregnant women. Our mission is to promote healthy prenatal outcomes for pregnant women, enhance the development of very young children and promote healthy family functioning.
Community Action is a private, non profit corporation organized for the purpose of executing, coordinating and planning programs authorized to al-leviate and attempt to eradicate poverty. Some of our other programs in-clude Foster Grandparents, Senior Nutrition Program, Emergency Ser-vices, Housing/Weatherization, Transportation, Community Service & Sen-tencing, Free Income Tax Preparation, and the RX for Oklahoma. Head Start/Early Head Start is sponsored by Delta Community Action Founda-tion, Inc., our Executive Director is Karen Nichols.
