Child Development Center Description

The Alexandria Education Center located in the Alexandria Elementary School opens at 6:45am for working parents with children attending the Campbell County Schools preschool program. This preschool is open to children ages three four and five which can function in a group setting with a ratio of one teacher to every ten children. The preschool is convenient for parents since we provide year round care including snow days and professional days. Other quality aspects of this program include. Provides developmentally appropriate environment quality learning materials. Provides curriculum aligned with the Department of Educations Kentucky Early Childhood Standards. Provides Individual lesson plans. Promotes Social Emotional Development using a nationally recognized curriculum to assess and develop social skills. Has a well developed literacy program that includes: Visual discrimination auditory discrimination oral language writing phonemic awareness and reading. Staffs with well trained degreed teachers. Collaborates with other on sight Preschool teachers. Is affordable and offers funding sources to those who qualify. Provides before and after extended preschool and care to enrolled students.
