Pre K Description

The Easter Seals Child Enrichment Center is available to all pre-school children from birth to school age. Although Easter Seals is known for its work with persons with disabilities the Child Enrichment Center has an inclusive program for typical learners as well as children with special needs.
Children learn through direct hands-on experiences with people objects events and ideas. Trained adults who understand child development and how to scaffold the important areas of learning in the preschool years offer guidance and support. The space and materials in a HighScope setting are carefully arranged to promote active learning.
The classrooms are divided into interest areas organized around specific kinds of play; for example block area house area small toy area book area sand-and-water area and art area. High Scope teachers give preschoolers a sense of control over the events of the day by planning a consistent daily routine that enables the children to anticipate what happens next.
The core educational hours are 9:00 2:30 however extended care is available. Breakfast lunch and snacks are provided. Speech language physical occupational and behavior management therapies available.

Medical rehabilitation includes occupational therapy physical therapy speech and language pathology audiology early intervention and other therapies that help children learn the skills they need to live learn work and play in their communities. Medical rehabilitation focuses primarily on the prevention diagnosis and treatment of disabilities to help individuals live as independently as possible. Successful rehabilitation is influenced greatly by the positive belief that individuals can make up for the loss of one sense or ability through training practice and focusing on their abilities rather than on their disability.
