Day Care Description

The Elwood Middle School (grades 6 to 8) recognizes the special learning requirements of adolescent students by offering an educationally balanced program which meets academic social and emotional needs. Its innovative programs featuring cooperative learning and problem solving activities were factors in its selection for the New York State Regents Challenge for Excellence program.
Sixth grade includes the basic skills of language arts reading mathematics social studies and science. Reading and mathematics learning environments are structured to assure each student the best opportunity for success. Other subjects include physical education art music study skills health technology and home and careers. Four new fully networked IBM computers are located in each grade classroom to assist with the integration of curriculum materials and provide additional instructional support.
