Evergreen School is committed to a learning community where everyone can feel safe and be

We want our children to learn to think, to love peace, and have a passion for self-chosen work
done well, to respect and celebrate the individual spirit within all people of all ages, to value
life, and to continue to love to learn.
Respect is at the core of Montessori philosophy: respect for each individual, respect for life,
and respect for the environment. Such respect, especially for each individual child, sets the
stage for trusting relationships; trust is essential for growth and learning to take place.
In our School, parents, teachers, and children work collaboratively for the benefit of all.
Within this paradigm, learning and growth are viewed as synonyms with living; knowledge
and knower are construed as inextricably bound. Learning is an ongoing, dynamic process of
self-construction within a social context.
