At The Goddard School located in Southport we strive for excellence and superior care. This School is family owned and operated. It has been open since August 2002. We also own The Goddard School located on Fishers Point Boulevard in Fishers and The Goddard School located on Oak Road in Carmel. The on-site owners are very proud to bring the best preschool opportunity that is available for your child.
Our owner is Jennifer Griffin and she is on-site every day at The Goddard School located in Southport. Her background is in business and she loves working with children. In her words "I'm proud to provide top quality care at an affordable price." She is married to Chris and they have a daughter Sophie. They also have two dogs together - Mischka and Louis. In her spare time she loves to work out and read.
Our Director is Abby Steffen. Abby is originally from Indianapolis and currently resides in the Noblesville area with her husband Andy and their lovable dog Bonita. She attended the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville Indiana and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She has a current Indiana Teacher's License. After college Abby began working in an early childhood setting teaching both Preschool and Kindergarten. She is thoroughly trained as an Early Childhood Educator and continues to seek new and innovative ideas to refresh and renew her knowledge in this area. In her spare time she enjoys movies art and spending time with friends and family. Abby has an extensive background in both early childhood and elementary education and is eager to bring both her experience and love of children to The Goddard School located in Southport.
Our hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Our program offers care for children as young as six weeks to six years of age. We offer a variety of full-time and part-time programs so you are able to choose the best schedule for your child and your family. We communicate with parents through Daily Activity Sheets in addition to talking with parents every day! At Goddard all activities are open-ended so each child may participate at their own level. We share a progress report with parents twice a year at parent/teacher conferences. During conferences parents are able to view and discuss their child's growth and development with portfolios.
Our state-of-the-art facility was designed with your child's health and safety in mind as well as easy access to all learning materials for the children. We even have a special Exploration Room for the children to enjoy and learn. Children can work at computers or just let their imaginations work in one of the learning centers available in the Exploration Room.
Our School provides children with a safe loving and nurturing environment where their self-confidence and independence will grow. We provide a learning environment that allows self-expression through creative media dramatic play music storytelling block building and other forms of play. We provide your child with a balance of teacher-directed and child-directed activities that will encourage a lifelong love for learning. Through open communication between parents teachers children and management we provide children with an environment that will allow them to reach their potential.
