Holy Trinity Montessori is a 501©(3) nonprofit corporation. A Board of Directors composed of parents and community members from the Nashville Area oversee Holy Trinity Montessori School operating under an established set of Bylaws. The Board of Directors is responsible for hiring and evaluating the Head of School, overseeing the schools financial status and conducting strategic planning for the school.
Holy Trinity Montessori is committed to the teaching philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori with the belief that all children are unique individuals with an intrinsic motivation to learn. Maria Montessori believed that the span from birth to six years of age were critical to the formation of self. Montessori Education is based on multi-age groupings, child-directed learning and peace education.
In the Montessori classroom, children are brought together in a multi-age group ranging from 18 months to 3, or 3 to 6 years old. The children choose their work from among self-correcting materials displayed on open shelves. The classroom is divided into six areas; Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics, Language, Cultural and The Atrium. Within the carefully prepared environment, along with the guidance of a well-trained teacher, the child is introduced to the joy of learning and develops with confidence.
Holy Trinity Montessori believes strongly in the childs spiritual development and the inherent value that comes with nurturing the childs spirituality. By using the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Curriculum, Holy Trinity Montessori stands alone as the only Christian Montessori School Nashville.
We believe that the Montessori Method can be beneficial to every child. We also believe strongly in the art of parent education. We seek to build a community of parents and families who believe in our mission and adopt the Montessori philosophy in their lives.
