The Downtown Optimist Club of Houston, Texas was founded in 1924, making it the oldest club in Houston. The club has a long history of community service, including many Optimist International programs, charities and founding Boys and Girls Harbor in nearby La Porte, Texas. Members of the Downtown Optimist Club have the opportunity to share in a special fellowship in an atmosphere of hopefulness, enthusiasm and confidence.
