Preschool Description

Head Start founded in 1965 is a comprehensive program designed to foster the heathy development of three four and five year-old children from low-income families. Our program is a 100% federally funded program and has grown from a summer program for 65 preschoolers in Palo Pinto County in 1967 to hundreds of children each year in eight North Central Texas counties; Erath Hood Johnson Navarro Palo Pinto Parker Somervell and Wise.
Our center based Head Start and Early Head Start programs provide children from low-income families with a high quality preschool program to build their cognitive skills provide daily nutritious meals and many opportunities for social and emotional growth. All of these services help prepare children for success in school and in life. Our home based program works with parents to improve their skills in working with their children. Both programs also connect children to a health care source and provide vital support services to their families.
