Pre School Description

Little Saints Academy is a Child Care Center based on the concept that children benefit in all areas of learning by providing music and movement as a learning tool.
Not only do they excel in areas of development like fine motor skills, large motor skills, hand-eye coordination, but they benefit in ways such as appropriate interaction with others and many practical life skills such as teamwork and learning to display emotions. As we all know, in an age where schools are focused to cut budgets, the fine arts have struggled to stay consistent in curriculum at every level.
Music and movement have proven to be a catalyst for children and learning, they learn to listen and focus their attention. They also learn language, concepts and skills needed to help them thrive in Kindergarden and beyond.
Our curriculum interweaves the arts into your child's learning and development. When we are learning to tie our shoes, we may sing a song that helps us remember how to tie our shoes. When learning about Austria, we may sing "Once an Austrian Went Yodeling" and making a clay sculpture of the Alps, much the same way that most of us learned our ABC's by singing them.
We have been fortunate to find an ideal space for Little Saints Academy. We are located in the vacated Kennedy Elementary School in St. Joseph. We are housed in approximately 4700 square feet of classroom space. In addition, we are able to utilize the cafeteria, gymnasium and playground areas.
We sing and dance, sclupt and paint, play and laugh, and so much more. We play the handbells and boomwhackers in the morning and put on plays and give concerts in the afternoons. All in a day's play!
Beyond the developmental benefits of using music to teach, my hope for the children that we care for is that they learn to love and appreciate the arts while having fun.
Little Saints Academy was set into motion by my belief that where there is music, there is learning.
