The Red Earth Waldorf Preschool/Kindergarten was founded by Charity Cygal in 1991. At that time she was the director of a local child care facility, and while there she worked to bring Rudolf Steiners educational insights into the community; showcasing speakers, providing workshops, trainings, and working directly with the faculty, and parent body. From these early beginnings a group of families ask for Charity to consider creating an Early Childhood program based on Waldorf principles. She did just that, and over twenty years later these humble beginnings continue to thrive. The program turned into a foundation for mindful education of the young child for hundreds of families over the years. Many have come to see Red Earth Waldorf Kingergarten as a safe, creative and reverent haven for their little ones. An environment where the child is not hurried, and is respectfully met where they are; with a loving invitation to grow forward with confidence into all the wonder of their potential. In a world where many have lost touch with the innate needs of the young child, the Red Earth program has become an oasis for families in the community; one that supports them in honoring and supporting their child wholistic development; heart, head and hands.
