Preschool Description

St. Vrain Community Montessori School is a public school of choice in the St. Vrain Valley School District. SVCMS is the only tuition-free Montessori school offering an elementary program in our district.
SVCMS is a charter school, which means we operate under a contract with our school district. We have operational autonomy from our district, which means we are governed by our Mission, Vision and Charter in areas of staffing, operation and educational programming.
SVCMS currently has 6 classrooms: 2 Primary classrooms, 3 Lower Elementary classrooms and 1 Upper Elementary classroom. Our growth plan calls for this to grow to 10 classrooms at build out (4,4,2) and we intend to fulfill our vision of opening a Middle School Program to serve our now 4th years when they reach their 7th year.
As a charter school, SVCMS operates within the limited resources of public school funding. This funding is going down, not up, and is expected to continue to do so next year. Therefore, we must raise supplemental funds from grants, fundraisers and our family community to sustain our operation.
We also must take a conservative approach when managing our finances. This means we set priorities for resource allocation and we cant be all things to all families. What we can be is an Authentic Montessori School that educates the Whole Child.
