Day Care Description
The PS 199 program serves 250 students in kindergarten through fifth grade from PS 199 and the surrounding community. The program operates Monday through Friday from 3-5 p.m.
Monday through Thursday the program provides time for students to complete their homework and to then take part in a rotating selection of activities including karate locking (dance) violin and sports. One highlight is Literacy Fridays on which students do not do homework but instead take part in a theme-based project connected to reading. There are regularly scheduled shows for student performances and the program also operates a summer camp for approximately 50 students in the community starting in 2008.
