Special Needs
The Children?s Center accepts children with special needs. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, we try to accommodate as much as possible those children who can be served in a group setting. There are some children with special needs that require more one-on-one care than we are able to provide in our group setting. In this situation, the Center may not be the best educational setting to provide for the needs of the individual child. When a child with special needs is enrolled an IEP (Individual Education Plan) or IFSP (Individual Family Service Plan) is required. These documents provide the staff with specific skills and areas of development that are a focus for the child and or family. If the child receives special services the Center staff will make arrangements to accommodate the therapists. The Teacher and Director will meet with families on an ongoing basis to ensure that the Center can continue to meet the changing needs of the child. The Children?s Center will require written parental consent to work with outside agencies.
