East Missouri Action Agency staff welcomes you and your family to the Head Start Program. Head Start provides many opportunities and services for children and their families. Your involvement in Head Start will enhance your parental role as the first and most influential educator of your child. The Head Start Program prioritizes the topics of Education, Nutrition, Health, Attendance, Discipline, and Special Services. This website is dedicated to providing parents with important information about the Head Start Program and show parents who cannot participate with in-class activities due to work or illness the progression and activity schedule for their children who attend the program.
EMAA Head Start works with families and staff to help all children develop their full potential. When staff and families feel that children might benefit from disabilities services, their knowledge and feelings will be respected, supported, and followed-up. The needs of these children will be met in the most natural environment possible in ways most similar to that of typically developing children. In addition, appropriate support services are provided for children with a disability in the classroom setting and/or through the school and other interagency collaborations.
