Child Care Center Description
Founded in 1974, AFTER SCHOOL provides before and after school care and summer day camp for children ages five to 11. All school year programs are licensed by the State of Wisconsin and all those located in Madison are accredited by the city. Summer day camp programs are accredited by the American Camp Association. In addition to providing a safe place for children to go when school is not in session, AFTER SCHOOL programs and camps give children the opportunity to learn new skills, pursue hobbies, make friends and be nurtured by trained, caring adults. At some AFTER SCHOOL sites children can also participate in language, science and arts classes during the school year. In the summer, AFTER SCHOOL offers special two-week long immersion camps where children can pursue their interests in circus arts, languages or other activities. An important part of ensuring that children have a great experience in our programs is our relationship with families. The better we know families, the better we can serve the kids. Parents are encouraged to visit programs and chat with staff at pick up and drop off times.
